ACHIEVEMENTS

Progress made from Feb to May 2014.

  • Constructed 925 feet of boundary walls

  • Hung - Double metal gates for vehicles and a pedestrian gate 

  • Built a Guard House

  • Drilled two wells and installed a submersible pump

  • Rebuilt two shacks one each for living and storage

  • Brought 2 KW of power from a power transformer

  • Obtained building permit to construct boundary walls; and

  • Rezoned/Registered the land from Agricultural to Institutional.

 

Since our return in Oct 2014, we have:

  • Cleared the land for the construction of our administrative building

  • Got our structural drawings and architectural renderings approved by the town-planner

  • Installed a hand pump

  • installed four (4) rows of barbed wires on the top of our perimeter walls

  • Installed a water storage tank on the top of our guard house to serve as a reservoir

  • Secured the front of our land with barbed wires and built retaining walls over the culvert

  • Excavated the land to build foundations for the administrative building

  • Completed the foundation

  • Constructed a Naturally Ventilated Poly House (10 meters x 20 meters x 6.5 meters) to grow vegetables, fruits and flowers

  • Planted 10 Bottle Palm Trees in front of the school; fruit trees (papayas, leeches and sapodillas - chikoo)

  • Received 12A and 800G charitable status accreditation in India

  • Completed Foundations of our Administrative Building

  • Completed the walls for the school

  • Completed the slab

  • Started hanging doors / windows and grills

  • Received Canadian Charitable Status from CRA

  • Completed electrical and plumbing installations.

  • Completed construction of Ground Floor (5600 sq ft) of our school.

 

Since October 2014 We have bought:

  • 7.5 KVA Diesel Generator (MFG: Kirloskar)

  • 2370 bags of cement (MFG: Reliance)

  • 33 tons of Iron bars - 8, 10, 12, 16, 20 and 25 mm - (MFG: Kamdhenu)

  • 90000 Bricks (MFG: Bharat)

  • 2100 Quintals of 20 mm Crushed stones

  • 1750 Quintals of Coarse sand

  • 380 Quintals of Broken Bricks

  • 250 linear feet (1'x1'x100')

  • 250 trolleys of backfill - each trolley brings 140 cu feet of soil
